It’s the most important and tasty black truffle.
In Italy is called Tartufo nero pregiato di Norcia e Spoleto (two historci Umbrian towns); in France is called Truffe du Perigord.
It has perideum globose in loose soils or irregular in stony soils, blackish-brown, initially reddish, warted; the gleba is greyish at first becoming purplish-black at maturity, marbled whit white veins.
